Marion Estella Lamb Metropolitan Funeral
MARION ESTELLA LAMB was born in Chesapeake, Virginia on September 2, 1934 to the late Katherine Simons Lamb and Luke Lamb. Marion was a resident of Virginia until July 15, 1945, she moved to Jersey City, New Jersey where she received her high school diploma from Henry Snyder High School and attended Salem Baptist Church. Marion was a very proud mother and didn’t want to rely on anyone for help, so she pursued a Nursing career. Marion received her Licensed Practical Nurse Certification on February 10, 1966. Marion was employed at Jersey City Board of Education in 1966 and from 1969-1997 at the Liberty House Nursing Home in Jersey City, New Jersey. Marion was also a Training Coordinator, Scheduling Supervisor and administered supervision of Home Health Aides at Visiting Homemaker Services in Jersey City. She received Hudson Hospice, Inc. certification on 10/31/2000. When not working, she enjoyed bowling where she joined the Eager Beaver League, traveling, cruising, cooking, baking, and Love to play BINGO. In fact, she was an expert player! Marion returned to her home town, Chesapeake, Virginia upon retirement. She enjoyed helping her neighbors and was known for cooking and baking for them. She leaves to mourn two Children, Salah Abdullah, Steven Lamb aka Abdul Mu-nin of Cortesville, PA; one Sister, Margaret Williams Bendtsen of Ceder Grove, N.J.; Grandchildren Hakim Abdullah, Ramzee Abdullah, Muneer Abdullah, Akbar Abdullah, Samad Lamb, Jalal Lamb, Malik Lamb, Rasheda Lamb Turner, Latifah Lamb-Towles; Great Grandchildren Aniyla Abdullah 16 yrs., Klynn Abdullah 3 yrs., Naaz Abdullah 2 yrs., Kelis Lamb 23 yrs., Samad Lamb Jr. 20 yrs., Samiah Lamb 20 yrs., Destinee Merrik, Anailah Lamb-Towles 16 yrs., Nasira Towles 15 yrs. And Kian Towles; a very special Niece Rose Marie McFadden Cameron; Goddaughters Crystal Duncan and Felicia Moyed; Aunt Evelyn Simons and a host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. Proceeding her in death was her Mother Katherine Lamb-Williams; Stepfather Albert Williams; Son Gregory Lamb; Grandsons Bruce A. Lamb Jr., Sherond Lamb; Sister Catherine Lamb McFadden of Jersey City, N.J.; lifelong friends Evelyn E. Robinsons and Lois Duncan.
